Carving and then printing is  a massive time-consuming process. Carving is the process of cutting out the white parts on your wood linoleum block. Printing is putting ink or paint on your block and making prints of it. There are 7 main steps. To create a print like this, you will do the following steps: find a picture, sharpie the main outline, transfer to a white paper, charcoal, transfer to block, carve, and printing. We had to choose a picture of ourselves for this project and I decided to do this one because I thought it would look cool after I carved it and made prints. I decided to name this picture picnic because in the original photo, the pattern in the background of these prints was actually the pattern on my dress, and it looked as if I could have a picnic on my dress. I love my block more than my final prints , for I forgot that the prints come out as a mirror image of the block. If I would have planned to carve the block opposite of the original picture, I would have been more pleased with the way my prints came out because I think the mirror image of my block is not as neat and clean as the original photo (a.k.a the real way I look).
